As we head into Q4, we’re excited to showcase the key product breakthroughs that have driven EventPipe’s growth and innovation and kept our customers’ success in mind this past quarter.

Our Product Development Team has been hard at work, as this quarter was filled with enhancements designed to improve our platform’s usability, streamline workflows, and empower customers to make smarter, faster decisions with real-time data. Here's a recap of the most notable updates from the EventPipe Product Team.

Q3 Product Breakthroughs

1. Upfront Markup

This is one of our most impactful enhancements this quarter. Upfront Markup allows our customers to take the traditional hotel commission and rebate, typically collected after an event, and instead add that amount to the reservation as a deposit charged at the time of booking. This gets you paid immediately, without having to reconcile and collect commissions 30-60 days after the event while also providing the opportunity to pay your customer faster.

However, just adding a markup is only half of the solution. You need hotels offering rates that are now net of commission and rebate. That’s where this technology really shines.

We updated the hotel RFP with a rate calculator that takes your markup and the best available rate and provides the “max rate allowed”. Hotels love it because there’s no guessing. Our customers love it because they’re in full control of what rates get quoted. And your guests love it because it gets them the best rate!

2. Booking Protection

In partnership with Protecht, we also launched Booking Protection, offering guests peace of mind by protecting against unexpected trip disruptions such as weather-related issues and event cancellations. This optional add-on encourages guests to book with confidence, leading to earlier bookings and higher conversion rates while generating a valuable new revenue stream for our customers. Booking Protection underscores our commitment to delivering value-added services that enhance the overall event and guest booking experience.

3. PipeSights: Real-Time Analytics

We’re thrilled to unveil PipeSights, a powerful analytics and reporting solution that empowers businesses with real-time decision-making capabilities. With dynamic data visualization, PipeSights enables event organizers to monitor performance, adjust strategies on the fly, and make data-driven decisions to optimize their events.

As I described in our announcement, PipeSights is “not just offering another reporting tool; we’re providing an action engine that redefines how our customers run their businesses. Think of PipeSights as a powerful, flexible command center that allows you to steer your business toward success. No matter your role, you’ll have access to everything you need to make critical business decisions.”

Unlike standard reporting that is typically available in our industry, with PipeSights, our customers gain access to a variety of tools, including interactive pacing reports, booking trends, and other dynamic dashboards. They can also set up customized alerts and exports for any report. Need a weekly summary of recent hotel proposals delivered to your inbox every Monday morning? Go ahead and configure it!

4. Private Blocks

We also recently introduced Private Blocks, giving event organizers the ability to manage room inventory more effectively. Private Blocks keep designated rooms separate and secure– only accessible by specific team members or groups. Additionally, users can create group blocks directly from private inventory and offer customized rates for different groups.

5. Event Statuses & Available Inventory Update

To provide clearer insights into event management and keep your events better organized, we introduced additional Event Statuses.

  • Inactive: Default for new events.
  • Configured: Internally set up but not yet active.
  • Active: Open for guest bookings.
  • Closed: The event is over and no longer accepts bookings.
  • Reconciled: All post-event accounting is completed.
  • Canceled: The event has been canceled.

6.  Improved Hotel Support

We’ve also enhanced our Hotel Support with a new chatbot in the hotel portal. This tool gives hoteliers quick access to FAQs, support articles, and a direct line for submitting tickets—ensuring a smoother, more responsive experience when managing RFPs and rooming lists.

7. Booking Selector Upgrade

We updated our booking site to clearly distinguish between making a reservation and holding a block. This enhancement improves the overall booking experience for guests, making it easier to manage diverse event types and housing needs.

What Else Happened in Q3?
